About the IVA Watchdog.
"Watchdog" • noun• a person or group that monitors the practices of companies providing a particular service or utility. Oxford English Dictionary
The IVA Watchdog holds a consumer credit license issued by the Office Of Fair Trading. Its panel comprise of accountants, independent insolvency practitioners and lawyers. We have vast experience in assisting people with debt problems and our advisors have helped thousands to find the most appropriate debt solution for their situation. We pride ourselves on giving clear and jargon free advice.
We have formed our organisation to enable us to review the provision of Individual Voluntary Arrangements. We are not a government body, we work as an independent voice working on behalf of the consumer.
The governments inconsistent regulation of the system has allowed some enterprising companies to mass market a product which was intended to be a bespoke, individual solution to debt.
After numerous media reports concerning the advertising , advice given and selling of IVA’s, an alarmingly high percentage of individuals who have entered into an IVA are now questioning whether they should have had a faster cheaper solution to their debt problem.
When financial products are sold on mass there are often victims of poor advice or people who may have been placed in an inappropriate debt solution. Having a review by an independent government licensed debt adjuster will give you peace of mind knowing that the debt solution you are in is the right one for you.
It may be that the credit agreements you originally signed may have never been enforceable, putting into question whether your debt level was appropriate for you to be proposed for an IVA in the first place!
